Phantom Sound Whole House Sound Systems

The "PHANTOM" concept is based on the fact that most people enjoy listening to music but don't like the hardware with which it is associated. Listeners don't like to be confined to a single "sweet spot" or location within one room to enjoy the music. To expand upon this point, there was a story about a speaker manufacturer who paid his engineers to go to an Opera. The manufacturer told the engineers he wanted to produce the 'exact same' setting in a living room, where there is one perfect spot to enjoy the music. As a result the whole Hi Fi industry became obsessed with the "sound stage" concept. It is quite apparent this fixation is still very evident today. We propose that music should be enjoyed no matter what your location in the room or in the house. We want to put you in the music not somewhere in a crowd off stage.

Previously, the idea of whole house sound was handled only by intercom installers until about ten years ago. People seemed to be intrigued by having music "piped" into every room of the house. We maintain that the intercom concept placed the "whole house sound" industry years behind, mainly because of the lack of sound quality and hardware used to provide music in every room.

So, why was this idea of music being piped into each room of the house so intriguing? After all, the industry was talking about "sound stage" and "accuracy." Yet, there was a tremendous cry to meet the needs of the average housewife who had work to do throughout the house. Mr. and Mrs. Jones wanted to do other things, while listening to music throughout the house and did not want to be stuck in a chair centrally located in one room to enjoy music.

Our experience says that most people want a sound system that:

  • Sounds great, especially at low levels. Our Phantom Sound speakers sound better than any in wall speakers or ceiling speakers regardless of price.

  • Has little or no physical or visual presence, no wires and no boxes.

  • Allows mobility, within the house or out and still maintains the quality, level and coverage.

  • Is simple to operate.

  • Is reliable.

  • Is reasonably priced to install.

  • Is able to support TV surround sound.

  • Is able to have separate programs in separate sections of the house.

  • Is installable in new and existing homes.

We at PHANTOM SOUND believe we have locked in on the above 9 points and have a command of the equipment and concepts. We use the same equipment on every job yielding very consistent results. The proof being our high customer satisfaction rate.

Our approach to selling our services was unique. We had much against us. A small company with no name, who would be here to service the system? How could such a small company have a better command of the art than the big guys with all the engineers and experience? These are concerns any customer should have.

The reason for these results is our capability to comply with the nine concepts for whole house sound. We never sell by complaining about competitors products, quality or their desire to sell a good system but strictly on the benefits of our system.

These nine items are really pretty tough to do and quite honestly most Hi Fi guys and stereophiles just don't know how to do the job. They probably don't even want to try. It would compromise what they believe sound is or should be for their customers, i.e. reproducing a perfect symphony sound stage in every room as compared to providing a great sound regardless of your location in the room.

The PHANTOM process requires a reorganization of thought for the old pros and a receptive mind for the new-comers. We feel that ultimately the industry will be evolving in the near future with the use of products like ours.

I hope you will allow us the opportunity to serve you.
